Trial mechanics
Each account gets one 14-day trial, ever. Picking a tier at signup activates the trial against that tier and seeds your prepaid balance with $20 CAD. You can change tiers any time during the trial — the seed credit doesn’t reset.
- One trial per account. The server enforces this with a DB constraint (
UNIQUE(tenant_id)on the trial-grant table). Cancelling a trial doesn’t reset the flag. - No automatic charge. Trials don’t auto-convert. When the 14 days end, your tier-level cloud compute pauses until you subscribe; local features keep working.
- Visible countdown. The trial pill is rendered on every shell window, every web dashboard page, and the SubscriptionPanel. You won’t miss the deadline.
